We are a small family-owned kennel in Keyser, West Virginia, that has been breeding labrador retrievers since 1992. We are proud to announce that we were recognized by the AKC as a Breeder of Merit in 2011. The Breeder of Merit Program honors breeder/exhibitors' dedication and hard work as they continue to produce dogs that are healthy, capable, and beautiful. Our labs are versatile working dogs, competitive dogs and family companions. We strive for excellence in all of our litters and complete all recommended health clearances. Both parents are chosen carefully for health, retrieving desire, intelligence, willingness to please, and overall friendliness. We usually have only 1 litter of puppies per year. Chocolate, black or yellow puppies may be available, depending on the parents. Is a Labrador the Right Breed For You?

The gentle, intelligent and family-friendly Labrador Retriever from Canada continues to be the most popular breed in the United States, according to AKC® registration statistics. This versatile hunting breed comes in three colors – yellow, black and chocolate – and because of his aptitude to please his master they excel as guide dogs for the blind, as part of search-and-rescue teams or in narcotics detection with law enforcement (from the AKC Breed Standard). Please note only 3 colors of labs are recognized by the AKC; puppies advertised by other kennels as "platinum", "silver" or "fox red" are only shades of those 3 colors.

The ideal sporting and family dog, the Labrador Retriever thrives as part of an active family or as a trusted hunting companion. The labrador is a double-coated breed which sheds seasonally, and regular grooming keeps his coat at its water-resistant best. The coat is a distinctive feature of the Labrador Retriever. It should be short, straight and very dense. Labs have a soft, weather-resistant undercoat that provides protection from water, cold and all types of ground cover. Lab puppies are low-maintenance, but need plenty of exercise and family companionship.
