About Us News Our Girls Our Boys Puppies

Occasionally, we have a Puppy Party for our extended family of puppies and their people. It's a fun day, with a barbeque for the people and special treats for the dogs, even a Doggie Birthday Cake! And it's a great way for us to get reacquainted with all of you and exchange lab stories. (See Recipes below)

Here are some photos from the 2010 and 2013 Puppy Parties. Thanks to all our friends (2-legged and 4-legged) who attended! Visit our Gallery Page for reunion photos from previous years.

Dog Friendly Recipes

Healthy Ice (This one is EASY)

1 can chicken or beef broth (I use low-salt)
1/2 can water

Mix broth & water Pour into ice cube trays & freeze To serve, just pop out a cube ! Just don't mix the trays up with your regular ice!!

Doggy Birthday Cake (They absolutely LOVE this !)

Mix together:
4 lbs ground turkey
3 cups cooked brown rice
1 cup diced carrots
1 cup diced celery
1 cup minced parsley

Mix together & add to first 4 ingredients:
2 eggs, beaten
3 tsp chopped garlic
2 T olive oil
1/4 tsp vanilla

Add to above & mix thoroughly:
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup whole wheat flour

Lightly grease 4 round 8" cake pans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake one (1) hour.

Frost with 4 cups mashed potatoes (instant are fine). Decorate with bacon bits !

Recipe can be cut in half, or make entire amount - frost each cake individually and then freeze in heavy freezer bags for future use. Serves 10.

Simple Simon's Birthday Bones ( I haven't tried this one yet, but sounds yummy!)

2 cups whole wheat flour
1 T baking powder
1 cup natural peanut butter
1 cup skim milk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk. Add wet mixture to dry, and mix well. Turn out dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll out to 1/4 " thick and cut out shapes. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake 20 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on a rack, then store in an airtight container.

Makes 30 large bones. From the Three Dog Bakery Cookbook
